Antidote is our series of recipes designed to nourish not the wantings of the stomach, but that of the heart or mind

Serves who ever is in the vicinity 

You’ll need: 

  • at least one entire head of garlic
  • whatever roots vegetables are around
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • either bread or leftover meat 
  • wine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 

Pour wine and sip slowly. 

Peel outer skin from head(s) of garlic. Place root side down in an ovenproof dish. Console each head with a liberal tablespoon of olive oil. Add scrubbed or peeled root vegetables (if available) or any other oven lovin veggies. Share the oil with them too.

Roast until browned and garlic permeates the air. 

Continue to sip wine while allowing roasted garlic and veggies to cool. Meanwhile, toast bread or retrieve meat. 
Squeeze pulp from garlic skins directly on to toast or meat. Mash vegetables and add those too. 

Feel warm and loved.
