We staged a massive pop-up art gallery... to prove we could
The Foundry Equation was a unique event: a pop-up art gallery and community celebration conceived and executed by a diverse group of organizers in a little over two weeks! The Foundry Equation featured both contemporary and children's art while showcasing the potential of a neighborhood landmark- the historic Foundry building at 101 Rogers Street (at the crossing of Kendall Square and East Cambridge). On Saturday, June 22, 2013 over thirty artists "explored the connection of past + future, steel + concrete, art +music, kids + adults, and residential + industrial to illustrate what 10,000 square feet of space could mean for the local creative community." The event was a resounding success, with over 500 participants (!!) and great enthusiasm for the future of this unique initiative.
